I would just use your tv as a monitor for the time being if necessary.
Something will turn up dirt cheap or free...either another laptop or a monitor. The latter is more likely...we get all sorts of 1080p monitors in at work quite regularly. Laptops usually get junked as they're always old and/or have issues.
I salvaged a couple more laptop sata drives over the last couple of weeks (nothing over 500GB though), also grabbed a couple of 1GB ram sticks (threw one into a spare netbook I have here).
Hmm, perhaps you could help dead. I have a 42" bush plasma (having to use it atm while im saving up for a new DVI-D), manual SAYS with a HDMI cable it can kick out 16:9 computer resolutions but it seems the manual is talking BS :/ it won't go past 1024x768 (4:3 which makes no damn sense). Yes I have connected it with a HDMI cable which according to "help" sites online also say it should sort the problem, it hasn't. Any thoughts?
I would use my tv if it wasn't an old tube style. only way to get one dirt cheap is craigslist and most of whats for sale around here is junk(really old non-working partially working.
I think I might go with the monitor and a cheap usb keyboard so I can keep using this until I can afford a decent desktop. I really can't justify spending $300+ on something that's only slightly better than what I have since I don't game much on pc anymore.
Stick to Atari
Oh that reminds me. Saw someone selling a vintage Intellivision in the box and a bunch of games on Craigslist the other day for around 150!!!!
Oh wait, I'm supposed to be at work :brb:
