Turn console off. Unplug all USB ports. Turn console on. Go into game. Choose Assault. Local co-op. When it asks for player 2 to hit x, hit the PS button and change your controller to 2. Go back in game and hit x. Switch controller back to 1, then choose the stage and go at it.

I can game in SD, but HOLY HELL, THE TEXT.

So I can opt to keep using it, but not being able to read anything ever, and rage at the presence of bars all over the fucking place, or I can wage a poor attempt at repair which may brick the whole thing.
