The people of Krynn role-playing us say hi.

Do you know why we are in a simulation? We will create RPGs in quantum computers, the characters will exist in a simulated universe where magic is among the laws of physics, they will use divination magic and know they are being simulated and what Earth is, they will in turn simulate Earth in their RPG.
What came first, the dragon or the egg?
"Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." ~ Arthur C. Clarke
I prefer SP. Gameplay blows for high levels with 3.xE and PWs pretty much always phone it in. Bigger numbers and/or more enemies don't do it for me as far as "epic" goes but that's what I've seen on the PWs. The decent RP servers are usually ran by nuts who eventually crack though, lose-lose for me :lol.
I'm using items that Bork the evil Weapon Master picked up as loot to play as a Lawful Good Sorcerer/Paladin/Cleric. The good character this time.
Build name: Elvish Magi
1 level of Cleric with Animal Domain empowered summoning to spam armies of powerful minions after Invisibility spell as Sorcerer, Death Domain as Cleric because Shadowdancer is a prestige class most builds take one level of for Hide in Plain Sight(which Invisibility spell does) and Summon Shadow(which Death cleric does too). 2 levels of Paladin for immunity to Fear(useful versus dragons and undead), to turn undead as level 2 Cleric, saving throw bonuses for having high Charisma as Sorcerer and to Lay on Hands for emergency heals and Smite Evil. Half-Elf for Immunity to Sleep spells, which human Sorcerer/Paladin/Sorcerer does not have and they will get immunity to Disease as level 3 Paladin but with 3 skill points in Heal you can cure disease and poison. Also, high bonus saving throws from Charisma make disease and poison rare. One more level of Paladin is one less level of Sorcerer. In addition, to have immunity to Sleep spell you can be an Elf but they get XP penalty as Sorcerer/Paladin/Cleric. Lastly, it's a power build that has high Charisma making it have natural skill points in NPC dialog so it's also a role-playing build.
Skills: Concentration, Lore, Spellcraft, Tumble(cc) 5 skill points at a time for +1 armor class, Heal(3 skill points at level 1)
Choose Pixie as familiar, has rogue skills and you can possess as scout to explore unknown areas disarming traps and unlocking chests/doors. Rounds out the build so that it's a Fighter/Mage/Cleric/Thief all-purpose character in D&D terms. Take Bull's Strength spell at level 2 in addition to Invisibility, pixie has only 7 Strength and you should buff its Strength before possessing. Also, Endurance spell to buff its Constitution because it turns it into a player character rogue and it's normally squishy. Summon pixie, cast Bull's Strength and Endurance on it, possess it then explore and attack with its +1 dagger. If it dies summon another one(summon before Resting to get 2 summons), repeat process and after it dies use Lay on Hands to restore the HP you lost. Then summon Shadow and cast Invisibility on yourself, remain invisible and let Shadow level drain enemies, it does not do damage only level drains, to do damage summon your empowered minions while invisible. Most spellcasters will run out of spells attacking minions, save one Evocation direct damage spell of each level for last to finish them off when they have no spells left.
Save one Invisibility spell as final spell. To retreat, then rest to replenish all your spells and lay siege to survivors with rinse and repeat loop.
Recommended spells: All Conjuration spells, all Evocation spells, all Illusion Spells, all Abjuration spells and Haste spell for increased AC and spellcasting speed before the Evocation nuke spells. Take the Spell Focus(Evocation) and Spell Penetration feats to bypass magic resistance. Empower Spell feat afterward.
Stats I'm using(feel free to edit)
STR: 10 [Average]
DEX: 14 [+2 AC bonus in robes, uses Chainmail + Shield if using Still Spell feat]
CON: 8 [Toughness feat at level 1 to counter -1 HP penalty]
INT: 14 [Sorcerers need more skill points, low INT and Half-Elf makes human sorcerers with Quick to Master racial ability superior]
WIS: 8 [worst priest ever, takes Cleric level for Domain Powers as Sorcerer]
CHA: 18 [Best Sorcerer]

Note: Turns undead as level 2 Cleric, all level 1 undead are instantly destroyed, up to 2 undead are turned with all of them taking damage, and Charisma determines effectiveness. Bang for buck level empowering Sorcerer summons.
Undead are immune to Pixie familiar sneak attacks and it's further synergy.
Equipment:
Sorcerer Robes
Chainmail Armor(for use with shield and Still Spell feat)
Light Shield(can be used with robes with a 5% arcane spellcasting failure, other shields weigh more and incur greater penalty)
Sickle(Lightweight weapon, many are holy weapons and/or have useful enchantments)
Sling(ranged weapon that can be used with shield)
Sling Bullets
You don't have to take Still Spell feat, cast spells on yourself before combat begins then switch to chainmail, it's a useful feat but not a priority.
Set Robes and Chainmail in the quickbar at the bottom to switch.
(one minor detail, Spot skill checks are important to see enemies at a distance and a human Sorcerer/Paladin/Cleric with those states has -1 Spot as well as -1 Listen. Half-Elf has +1 Spot and Listen to remove penalty and items that increase Spot and/or Listen have full benefit. Also, you get +1 Search racial ability and INT +2 Search bonus for 3 search which detects traps that your Pixie familiar automatically disarms when summoned. You can add spare points to Search cross-class optionally to synergize with familiar. In Hordes of the Underdark there are many deadly traps)

Personally, NWN2 level 30 cap and useless familiars coupled with cutscene battles makes the first one better. Who cares about graphics when both are retro games?
That being stated, best physical damage build is Half-Orc Rogue/Fighter/Weapon Master but it has XP penalty and it sucks at role-playing with 6 CHA. Also runs into trouble against spellcasting enemies that summon elementals and has Stoneskin spells which is what the half-elf in question does. So, there is no reason to not play as Half-Elf Sorcerer/Paladin/Cleric fearless one character party soloist magical damage nuker and summoner that turns undead and is a natural at NPC dialog role-playing. There is no reason to play as any other race or class combination, really.
I always get sidetracked with projects, but Neverwinter Nights 3 should be 3.5 rules because NWN2 is not a remake.

In any case, it's copyrighted so I'll just amuse myself with homebrew. It's kinda hard to convert HD video to GIF so that doesn't have the exact quality.
so pissed right now RA crashed on me twice in the last 2 days right after I finished a boss in FF9 so now I have to go back and beat the last boss I beat again and go back through a number of rooms.
I'm starting to think I should just use save states.
Video, not a game. Only 3D model animation.

I finished FF9. it was satisfying :) now I'm not sure what I want to do. I have some pc games I haven't gotten to yet and a couple PS1 games I haven't finished playing through and a few ps3 games I haven't played or finished and a couple I wouldn't mind playing again.
Try to beat me at RPG build creation.

You must defeat Gilius Thunderhead to stand a chance.

Something I made, should create Golden Axe NWN builds.
installed far cry 5 earlier and decided to check it out to see if it'd run. performance isn't great but my card doesn't seem to be getting fully used it still seems playable but a better frame rate would be nice.
the start of the game feels like a mix of 3 and 4's start. I've also been reminded that I suck without a scope :lol
If there were an NWN3 it would surely be 5E or whatever was current at time of release.
