There's nothing wrong with it in moderation, no. But, ignoring for a moment the fact that a quite frightening percentage of drinkers do not drink in moderation, there's nothing wrong with tomato juice, either. Are you going to suggest that everyone drinks that? ^_^ Doing something simply because it won't hurt you isn't much of a reason to do it.
I don't drink because I, horror of horrors, don't like it. Alcohol tastes pretty foul to me, and costs an absolutely ridiculous amount compared to much more refreshing drinks. And the mental effects are...meh. I just found it depressing. I think those are perfectly good reasons to stop drinking. ^_^ Though since you were moved to declare not drinking a failure, I'd assume you have a much more crystal clear understanding of things. Please enlighten me. ^_^
I see alcohol as a way to enhance the fun you're already having. Forget for a lil instant about your problems, issues of all sort and simply enjoy the moment with a nice glass of your favorite drink. Laugh heartily at the stupidiest jokes, try to fight the sexual urges bombarding you and try not to spill the content of your glass, it's all good fun to me. :P
Shakira is on Leno after the commercial, then Conan has Hulk Hogan and GERMAN TECHNO LIGHT SHOW!
Shakira needs to go bac to lip-syncing and shaking her ass.
COnaaaaaaaaaaaaaan..... OOOO'BRIIIIIIIIIIIENNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN
fuck yeah.
holy shit. epic beard is epic.
Oh certainly. ^_^ Like Zeik, I like feeling as if I'm in control of my own thoughts and actions at all times, and I don't like anything that deprives me of that control. I still don't feel very comfortable on antidepressants for the same reason. But, while I've decided that the pros just don't outweigh the cons for me, I can see the attraction of alcohol. And it's completely cool with me if others want to drink, provided that they don't take it to the point where it's going to be harmful to themselves or those around them.
What I have a problem with is just this notion that it's expected of you. People tend to be surprised, nowadays, if you tell them that you don't drink, and sometimes they'll even look upon it as a bad thing. I just find that a little bit irksome. ^_^ I'm perfectly tolerant of those who drink, so I'd appreciate the same courtesy. I don't like being looked down on simply for making what should, by all accounts, still be a choice.
