What I mean is...when AOL wanted to enter the Mexican Market they did it with horrible discs that fucked up your computer, and basically locked you from using a different ISP. DirectX was around since DOS 5.0 I think (maybe 6.0)

Also, DX2 never really was used, it was shipped to some 3rd party devs and died. DX3 was the first windows DX version.

Which reminds me, some guy at 4chan (yeah, sometimes they have good "sauces" there. :wacko: ) posted some OLD hentai pics and guys instead of saying: "DAMN THIS IS HOT" they were all: "Aww, I remember this was the first pics I ever downloaded" and started talking about internet speeds.

Interesting how porn can go into nostalgic and old talks. :P

DOS 6.22 came out while I had my first PC, so I guess we're talking about the same timeframe.

Heh. I remember logging into "the net" for the first time. And I was so disppointed that it looked the same as things I had already seen on my PC. I don't know what I was really expecting it to look like, but just another windo with some information on it wasn't as "OMG TEH NET" as I had expected.

Awesome. Too bad those were cd's. >__> Though I remember formatting some floppies that had the drivers for the printer and using them in an emergency for some work at school. :lol

When I first used the internet in second grade (This would be 1995, I think? :shrug:) I was extremely disappointed it wasn't a magical virtual reality neon lit world like something out of Tron. :ugh:

Yeah, that's what I mean. It wasn't "new" or different. Just another window.

That, until nekkid wemins started showing up. Then, I was impressed.

The first thing I downloaded was a screensaver...I can't remember what it was, just that it took me about 8 hours to download it :lol
