Same. If I didn't have to work at 8AM on the few days that I do work, or have to wake up with my son when he's over here, I think mine would be just as fucked up. :lol

Was tempted to throw this into the general gaming, but didn't know it was thread worthy. I suppose compared to the favourite threads its not the worst

Acheivements/trophies for older video games.
Something that just crossed my mind whilst playing some pokemon red (better than blue, oh yeah, I went there, I threw down the gauntlet :P ) and was thinking about how would older games be like if they had acheievements or trophies, or what you would need to do to get those trophies. The whole beating the game, and/or beating the game on hard would be the most standard one I think. What other possible ones could they do? For example, imagine doing things like beat zombies ate my neighbours while rescuing everyone. That would be pretty impossible.
One thing I did sometimes with games that I beat was set out my own challenges, people do lots of things like that such as three heart runs of legend of zelda. Things like that makes the game a bit more varied.
*half listening to whatever random show is on*
"We need weapons!"
"But where are we going to find weapons in a secret underground military bunker!?"
Delicious microwaved jeans
It's more thread worthy than many of the ones we have, Theo
Not to mention the LPs...
I can see time trials being common (there's a few "beat level/boss X in Y time or less"). Possibly some sort of rule for beating a boss without using the proper strategy (the new megaman games gave an in game achievement for not using the boss weaknesses, I could see something like a Zelda game where you can only use the sword to beat the boss instead of a safer arrow/hookshot strategy, or using the bug catcher for certain bosses in LttP.).
Then there's the old "don't die" or "don't get hit" ones.
The latest contra has a trophy for finishing the game without using a powerup of any kind. There's also one for a mostly pacifistic run and a one-life run. Those could certainly work on the older entries.
1CC awards would be pretty likely. When games give a continue option these days they sometimes make it so that you have to finish the game without it for a certain achievement/trophy (Bioshock comes immediately to mind).
And then there's the really interesting "force the player to use a really crappy weapon/the starting weapon/a developer favorite to finish the game" awards. I can see Doom having a "pistol only" or "shotgun only" achievement. Possibly one for chainsawing a boss as well.
