There's plenty of great FPS games that don't subscribe to the military concept or the whole "AMERICA, FUCK YEAH" mindset. You can have a lot of fun playing games that aren't for the CoD crowd. Things like ARMA are brilliant simulations of military combat that function somewhat akin to an RTS. Except you're only one unit and the other units don't have to listen to you.
