I've decided to mark off all the spots where VH freezes instead of emulating or playing the PS version :booger:. Two more points so far.

I suspect it's the pseudo cart that is the issue here. He can't run the disc without it.

Burned disc works fine on JPN console with phantom universal modchip (no cart) - shitty princo disc :wacko:
bin/cue works fine on JPN console via fenrir (no cart).

Modchip was cheaper back when I got my first Saturn. Now I have fenrir on another console plus genuine cart set... I don't need an AR for anything really (and they are impossible to find cheap new here now, even Chinese sellers want too much for them).

I'd have to burn it on an old drive that would follow the setting. I had to burn off another disc 1 for Sakura Wars with the same discs and I finished that without any trouble. The system is fussy about scratches (on burns) but the problems in Vandal Hearts have been at the same spot every time.
