99% of the time it'll be ok, but I've only done it a few times. I have heard of hot plugging killing monitors before as well, and with your luck... :P It'll be fine ;)
Oh and you can't plug it in while the comp is running, windows won't recognize it.
I worded that too vaguely. If you turn the comp on with monitor attached, unattach it and reattach it, it will be fine. The PC needs to be powered on w/ windows fully booted. If not it won't recognize it :P
