Compact Flash conversion kits cost around £35-40 as well. So I reckon I got a good deal, stop shitting on me. :(

A basic A500 on it's own is only worth around a tenner, but the deal you got sounds like a good one. The Amiga was one of my favourite computers, try checking out a game called Benefactor, it's a good puzzle game.
