They aren't that popular here either. Vocal minority and all that.

That video had better be a threesome with a dingo, koala and a kangaroo. :serious:
Well idk about all gamers (no idea about PC gamers) but yeah there are plenty of casual console gamers that only play CoD and the like.
Dedicated console gamers, especially older ones like me play more than just that though. But yeah mostly big franchise western games like Assassin's Creed, Fallout and TES etc.
I don't avoid Japanese games completely mind you. I still really like RE games, and the Souls series is interesting but rather difficult to complete for me anyway (that isn't jrpg as far as I'm concerned...it's Japanese yeah but a western style). Dragon's Dogma is nice too.
It's just the anime moeshit stuff I don't like...and anything FF now. I'm over that completely.

Buried.
Ah, so you like older FF and classic Res Evil style survival horror?
I love "Traditional" style Res Evil Survival Horror, so much damn fun with those on PSX.
Having a blast with the likes of Dino Crisis 2 in Mednafen running through Retroarch, beat Dino Crisis 2 before but its just so damn fun. :D
I agree :revwacko:
Considering a fairly low end PC or laptop these days can run PS3/360 ported games albeit possibly earlier era games and low graphics settings (not necessarily lower than the consoles though) Not to mention PS2/PSP/GC/WII emulation getting better all the time - I'm not surprised. Pirating FTW.
Res Ev 5 isn't as bad as some people make it out to be.
You just don't like CoD cuz yer a scrub m8. :pwacko:
Well I did like the old FF and RE games but I wouldn't play them now tbh. I had loads of fun playing the original REs when they came out but that was years ago.
Case in point: I grabbed the psn version of Code Veronica a while back along with RE4. Played CV a little and got bored with the old style. Played RE4 and finished it completely.
I like the newer style games now I guess.
But anything FF I avoid playing, old or new (I do have all the older PSX FF games still).
I really enjoyed Dino Crisis 2 btw. Played on a shitty Android device a couple years ago on the go and except for that one underwater part where for some reason the creature after you was invisible but somehow made it through. RE but with Dinos!!!!! :P
Europe on the other hand: http://www.vg247.com/2015/06/30/play...onsole-market/
RE Revelations is a newer game that feels slightly different to RE4/5/6.
Not the same as the original games, but not the same as the other newer games.
I haven't got/tried RE Rev2 yet.
Res Ev Dinos
Oh and Dino Crisis 3 is terrible. I was really keen about playing it when I first grabbed it...big disappointment.
That's one of those games I pretend doesn't exist.
5 original xboxes in the house at the moment I'm afraid.
But if that's the case you're missing out on the awesomeness of Metal Wolf Chaos.
I mean I just don't need that many. I have a couple sold though, just waiting on payment (these people have bought from me before, so I'm confident they are sold).
Movie time.
RE 4 is so far from "Survival Horror" it aint funny.
Game is so overhyped just because its action oriented , Survival Horror is,
#1 Tank Controls
#2 fixed camera angles or on rails
#3 A ACTUAL SENSE OF FEAR AND DREAD :0:
Thank God we have Mednafen so I can almost perfectly enjoy all the classics again instead of all this shit nowadays. :old:
Hell even countdown Vampires is better than most games nowadays.........
Spoiler warning:
That's pretty hard to do now. Not impossible, but just about everything is unlikely to scare most people.
Your other points aren't really valid now. Retro style games are liked by many people but not many want the old restrictions.
Rail shooters in particular aren't that popular anymore, although I didn't mind the RE rail shooters I played on the Wii a few years back.
First time I played RE Revelations I got surprised a few times by some enemies but not scared, there's a difference. But after playing through a few times, and playing heaps of Raid mode you know enemy locations and behaviours.
You REALLY have to play it to get a good understanding of how "good" it is

I own/owned? it, can't find my discs, got them tore to shit loose from a rental store, took a shit loads of buffing to get those perfectly playable, oh well I got them redump and can "enjoy" them in Retroarch.
Alien Isolation is rather tense even on the lowest difficulty. Not a scary game but playing it for the first time you get surprised quite a few times, and become paranoid.
The save system adds to the tension.
It looks and feels like a new game obviously, but if you prefer real survival it might be one of the few games that comes close to what you want
A bloody good game anyway.
