I'm going with the PS3. It has several exclusive games that I'm partial too including the MGS and Gran Turismo series. The developers of ICO are also going to develop for PS3 and the Gundam game doesn't look that bad so far either.

I kinda doubt I get an Xbox360 down the road, but I might.

Good old Knowitman is a... man... after my own heart. :P

He mentioned the Sony exclusive Gran Turismo series, and he is right. Gran Turismo is the only game I would buy a console for. That franchise can, in my own eyes, make or break a great system. So yeah, when GT5 comes out, I'll be getting a PS3, but who knows when that will be? By that time, there will be numerous games to justify my purchase.

I probably will always consider the xbox to be inferior to the playstation. But i also believe that the first two weeks of sales are going to kill the PS3, simply because of Halo 3. I know that Halo 3 is so secretive, that there are 3 different stories being written, so not even the writers know the true story. And I pick playstation 3 because you can hook up not one, but two HD big screen tv's to it. And I also hope that 3rd party makers utilize this.

don't see how sony copies other ppl, they owned gaming till microsoft decided to join in... and still i find the Sony system a shit load better than the xbox.. gameplay is more important than graphics, every 1 knows that...

edit: u cant emulate something with equal power? lol it's been prooven at E3 the ps3 is 2x more powerful than the 360... but yeah i still doubt 2x is enough for it to be copied

PS3 for its Linux support, power and graphics prowess... It should kick the ass of the x360 as much as the x360 will kick revolution (tech-wise at least)

Especially since that fanboy is (in priniciple) correct. The CPUs being used are quite similar (although the PS3's will be more powerful) The primary difference would be in the BIOS and OS routines as well as the low-level video hardware (although a wrapper shouldn't be THAT hard to write) Basically, the two systems are similar in enough ways that it should be possible (with significant effort) to run an x360 program on a ps3. It would probably take several years to get the wrapping and OS code cloned and emulated however.

I've read about Xbox 360 that the gameplay is much better, didn't get a chance to read about PS3 much, but I did read that it's supposed to be 35 times faster than PS2. I don't know which to get, voted for PS3 because I like the games Sony releases. IMO all the consoles tend to copy off of everyone.

few years? lol by that time all 3 companies'll be working on their next next gen systems :) i originally wanted a 360 because it'd be different for me. i always stuck with sony and nintendo. but because of certain annoying fanboys here i have a sour taste now for the 360 so, even though i don't plan on getting any of the 3 anytime soon as i'm saving up for a new pc, i'd rather get a ps3 or revolution.
