well no, not for me. i enjoy cooking good foods and pastry. it just irritates me when i think my food stinks but everyone else loves it. maybe i expect too much from myself.
yes it had happened to me once, when made tea for the first time i felt it horrible but all my family memberes liked it, it happens the cook always, he thinks that he can make better than what he has made, thats why cooking improve with more food u cook.... and find more hungry people like me :)
i can cook, quite a few things but i dont cook for my self all the time....minimum is once a week i cook tea for my me, my bro and my parents...and sometimes i cook more like for the whole week
Well, I was more insinuating that Soeru is, since that's kind of his thing. I'm the best at cooking.Quote:

An ice-cream(I like to use Pistachio flavour and make sure it is milk based ice cream. Not water based)
And Salko, evaporated milk with a lot of sugar. I dunno what kind of name Salko got in your nation or if it exist there(If it dont, you missed a gastronomical miracle).
The preparation is very simple: You add Salko(room temperature) into an ice-cream(from -4C to -8C), mix it and you're done. I suggest 2:3 ratio. Or try 1:3 if it's too sweet for you. I also shred a chocolate on a top of it.
And excuse my poor describtion. I'm not good at cooking.
You know what makes the eating more interesting for me...? When the food is edible, and that`s why I don`t cook! :ugh:Quote:

I used pork last night but i usually prefer chicken because trimming the fat off pork is a bitch. i fry that up with some veg oil a little, throw in some carrots and fry for a good 3-4 mins, then i throw in pea pods, sliced bok choi and orange bell pepper, fry it with the lid on to reduce some water out of the veggies, then i dump out most of the water, dump in the sauce, cook it for 5-7 mins, then serve on a bed of rice. I wish I had a nice electric wok like my parents have, buy at least i've got a large wok-style fry pan that works pretty well.
i can cook up some mean ass Ramen soup, and my grilled cheese sandwiches are a delicacy.
O! and domino's pizza. i am a FIEND at making domino's pizza.
Mmmm, Ramen. That must be one of my favorite meals out of anything in the world. That stuff proves you don't have to be a cook to have good food in your house. But I do warn you, don't substitute meatballs for the beef powder in Beef Ramen. It tastes horrible. Though cheese is good. Provolone turns out pretty good, but I heard rumors that when you try and mix it with the Mac and Cheese version of Ramen, it turns out unbelievably good. Give it a shot sometime.Quote:

I love to cook, I enjoy it even more than sewing and making craft stuff. I make pretty much everything from scratch, pancakes, tortillas, cookies, pasta dishes, whatever. I also like to modify recipes with my own ideas.
you need to hang out with my sister. btw, does anyone know of a good way to make cake frosting? :whistle:Quote:

i don't think i've ever tried butter cream before. care to bless us incompetant pastry folks here at ep with your recipe for this? :)
You probably have had buttercream before, it's very commonly used. The stuff used on store bought items sucks, though.Quote:

Whip butter, crisco and vanilla together until fluffy
Add 3/4 of the bag powder sugar or until it starts to pull away from the side of the mixer, while mixing add half-half slowly until consistancy you want.
The consistancy should feel almost velvet in spreading. Very smooth.
These are also delicious frostings. <3
Strawberry Whipped Cream Frosting
1 pint Heavy Cream
Reserved liquid from the draining of fresh strawberry jam
2 tablespoons Cream de Cassis (or other liquor) - Optional
1/4 Cup powdered sugar (or to taste)
Chill the bowl and beaters (or whisk) for 15 minutes. Into the chilled bowl, pour your heavy cream and whip until the cream starts to thicken. Add the liquid and half of the sugar and whip to incorporate. Taste and adjust the sugar. Continue whipping untill the cream is fluffy and stiff. I prefer to let it go a little past the stiff peak stage for frosting.
Gooey Frosting
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups of icing sugar
2 tablespoons of milk
Beat it all together in a bowl. Add more milk or icing sugar to play around with the consistency until you get it to your desired thickness.
I didn't come up with these recipes myself, but garnered them from people with experience. They taste great.
omg. will you marry me kei lol (assuming ur a girl) i'm so gonna try this tomorrow! thanks alot :)
Yep, I'm a girl. Prolly not the best thing to say on a gaming forum though, considering the amount of fanboys who troll such places.Quote:

It's kinda sad that I can't make anything really good. I do, on occasion, like to try something new and interesting, and I once tried to kix some sauteed veggies with rice... Now as much as a like rice... no wait , lemme rephrase that... I LOVE rice, this I remember, did not turn out right at all... and for a 22 year old, that kinda sucks. All I know is that I will probably be following a cook book for the rest of my life. ONe thing I can say though, is that no matter what is being made on the Food Network (even seafood, which I despise), will make my mouth start to drool beyond belief. Well, there's my two cents.
Don't cook much, or i make "instant" things. Sometimes sushi, but yeah that's not like it was hard to do anyway. I still love a good steak on the BBQ, but there's no special receipe either. :\
Pizza 73 or Boston Pizza are the only way to go for me. I also like Swiss Chalet takeout and the little chinese restaurant 3 blocks from my house. of course nobody outside of canada would know about swiss chalet. Schutzstaffel or any of the other Canadians here would care to back me up on this?
I actually don't like Swiss Chalet. If you're not looking for takeout and you're not living in the heart of Edmonton, that or you don't mind driving somewhere for a good sit down meal (perhaps with a lurver), you should go to Gus' in Fort Saskatchewan. Wonderful place. Really romantic, but a good place to sit down if you're just looking for an actual meal, too.
That is very specific to McGuinty, because I used to live out where he lives.

I saw somebody here mention a love of rice, so here's a good rice recipe.
Thai Style Chicken Fried Rice
Ingredients:
(makes 4 servings)
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
1 large shallot, minced
1/2 pound lean ground chicken
2 eggs beaten
1 large bunch of scallions, sliced
1/2 cup shredded carrots (look for the pre-shredded ones in your grocery store)
1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
3 tablespoons fresh mint, chopped
Zest (grated) and juice of 1 lime
Black pepper
Soy sauce
Fish sauce
4 cups cooked jasmine rice You *cannot* use freshly made rice for fried rice because it is too moist and will come out all mushy and gummy. Use rice made the day before, or do what I do and make a batch of freshly made rice, lay it out on a plate or cookie sheet and stick it in the freezer for 20 minutes which dries it out.
* In a large saut pan or dutch oven, heat the oil. Add the garlic, ginger and shallot and saut for 30 seconds. Add the chicken, a bit of black pepper and a few dashes of soy sauce and saut until the chicken is fully cooked. Drain off any liquid that may have accumulated, put in a bowl and set aside.
* Add the beaten eggs to the pan and cook over high until you have scrambled eggs. Set aside.
* Add the scallions and carrots to the pan. If you need to add a touch more oil, go ahead. Saut for a minute. Turn the heat down to medium, add the cooked rice, reserved chicken and scrambled eggs. Stir everything together well. Add the cilantro, mint, lime zest and juice, 12 grinds of black pepper, fish sauce (3 or 4 dashes only this stuff is STRONG) and soy sauce don't go nuts with the soy sauce...add just enough to barely color the rice. Mix well and let everything heat through.
oh come now. i'm sure everyone at ep would love to be graced with a recipe for your famous Skinner8 Tacos. pls, grace us. i'm begging you.Quote:
