No, you aren't. And there's tons of those floating around now. In fact, there are tons of sites that encourage that practice. Which is ass as far as I'm concerned. They use emulator issues to get through the games faster. For instance, I've seen several videos in which the player will hit an enemy once and then walk through them. I've tried the same thing while playing the same game on an NES, and I've never gotten it to work. It just doesn't work. All the NES speed runs you find on the net are pretty much worthless due to the fact that they use those emulator specific exploits to zoom through the games. :|

I have a video of me playing Strikers 1945 Plus, controlling both players at once. And winning. Pretty damned crappy quality, but still.

Try playing soul calibur or some other semi-complex fighting game on the highest difficulty with a fishing controller.

I saw that guy who beat Soul Calibur on the hardest setting with a fishing controller. Not by pressing buttons on the controller, but by using the motion sensor by 'casting' the controller.

What amazed me wasn't the fact he beat it, but the fact that he has less of a life than Skinner.

"Pretty damned crappy quality"? I think not.

Get the Strikers 1945 Plus ROM from here (Emuparadise link..), and use WinKawaks to load it and view the .rc0 in the .zip. Simple, what?

Hm, trying to beat action games using only the most basic weaponry is always fun.
I'll see how far I can get in DOOM II using only punches on the hardest difficulty.

I can't believe such a challenge slipped my mind. On most games people talk about no powerups, or never dying or whatever, forget that.

Beat the game Battletoads two player....as if it wasn't impossible enough on one player.

I know, play Street Fighter 2 on the hardest difficulty for 3 hours without swearing.

Battletoads what for what system?

It's for NES. And that means playing it on the real NES, as in no save state bullshit. But I assume that goes for all of the challenges. :P

Ahh, yes! Battletoads! Good luck with the bike race, people...

I can't remember how many times I lost in that just because my companion sucked at turning... (:

For some reason, my characters always tend to become Lawful, maybe because I never train... Anyway...

Agreed, are you going to let people put in what they did or will you want evidence?

There is a ending in Chrono Trigger where you meet the producers, i dont know how to get it or anything, but that's the challenge, get it with no info :)

Just beat the game once through the Black Omen and start a New Game +, then beat Lavos at the very first chapter using the red portal at Millenial Fair... :P

OK, uh...

I was doing the Zelda - OOT three Heart challenge and it only served to confirm one thing I already knew: Ocarina of Time is one helluva easy game!! :S

I already made it to Ganondorf and the only mildly tough boss battle I had was with Volvagia... Only because he moves too much and takes two hearts with most hits... >_<

Anyway, I'm gonna see if I can complete the three Heart challenge with any of the other Zeldas, especially the first and third ones... Now those games were TOUGH!! :wacko:

I know i've done this in the past...but it is when I used to play, and it was with 2 players.

Beat my top score on F-zero (SNES) which is 2'05''16.

Ill post a link to a vid of me doing that when i get the chance.

Also I can run through MGS TTS without killing one person on Hard Mode. Ill have to do it this week and post a vid.

Well, yeah, I beat GANON in Zelda:OOT with three Hearts and got the same ending... Easy as pie, people!!

No proof... No digicam and stuff... And I played it on a real N64... But you have to take my word on this one, and if you doubt it, then go and beat the game for yourself -- you'll realize it's a piece o' cake... ;)

Now playin' A Link to the Past and plan on beating it with three Hearts... ZSNES this time, so expect proof soonish... I'm worried about some boss battles, though... Especially Ganon... >_<

How about just beating the first castlevania. That grim reaper must have killed me 100 times. Dracula is a piece of cake compared to that damn reaper.

You what a challange, beat Super Metorid for the SNES in under 2:30 - 3:00 time. I beat the game before in 2:37 time.

Pokemon games. Go through them with just one pokemon. Don't catch any more at all, except if you need to teach HMs to them to continue or something. But only use one in battle, at least. Get a weak one (as in, go catch like a Ratatta and use that instead of one of the 3 starting ones) and use it if you want. No evolving or TM/HM teaching? Possibly.
I'm going through Fire Red like this with Squirtle, and it's easy so far...

Only because squirtle was the easiest to start and beat the game with, try using charmander, then u can say u got a challenge.

Ganon in OOT was not exactly what I would call a "challenge"... he was actually rather easy to beat with 3 hearts. :wacko:

Beat Enclave for Xbox, and I mean both Dark and Light campaigns. It's really freaking hard.

Actually just using only one pokemon is really easy...

My brother did it with the stupid bird quite easily.

Someone said something about beating the original battletoad i think(unless i'm thinking of a different forum), i have done this, it is just a matter of doing it again now, so i will actually have proof :P

And hell I'd love to see it. The best my brother and I ever did was get to lvl 7 doing 2 players...Even though 2 players is WAY harder. I can't remember how well he did one player.

2 player is only harder on the bike levels(which are the most infuriating thing in any game ever)

The bike levels were pure joy compared to the rest of it....:S

In nearly every single end level, if either of you die, you have to start back at some crappy far back point. Thus making you both have to play it perfectly. This making it horrible.

it's easier to do that perfectly then it is to do the final stages of a bike level.
(I just beat the ice caves and am now taking a break, if you care)

Update: gotta love beaten the fat rat guy without letting him touch the ground :P
