Why not use mediafire more often?

Unless I'm mistaken, it seems to check for doubles (might do more, but that seems to be the main thing as far as I can say)... does it for quite some time already, when it finds a exact copy already on their servers, it won't try to upload but instead create a second link pointing to the original file (already on their servers) into your account. (happened to me when I accidentally tried to upload the same file twice...)
