A warlock was the term for an oathbreaker in Scottish Gaelic, albeit associated with a very specific kind of oathbreaker today. We'll set aside common interpretation, but outside of Scotland, witches could be male or female. It wasn't until the Malleus Maleficarum, a hilariously misogynistic and blinkered text, was released that people started associating witches with females, and even that acknowledged male witches. In Scandinavia, particularly Iceland, pagan Nordic influence meant that more men than women were condemned for witchcraft, for instance. Don't even get me started on how people see the Inquisition and witch hunts. ^_^Quote:
