What is your favorite animal for a pet

Oh, sure, now you made me go look for information because I might easily have misremembered. On the plus side, I already knew where to look. Here, scrolling down. It doesn't seem to say specifically raising since birth, but it does link to a particular anecdotal story about a young cub raised in a home. Doesn't seem to mention house-breaking, either...dunno. Still not a good idea, it seems. Dogs took generations of systematic breeding for domestication, and you might get lucky with a fox that's calm enough with it, but you probably won't.

Nope, they are used to open spaces and the rest. It's pretty much factory default for them to be able to live in the wild. DNA and all that. Too late to link you to some googled sites.

:wacko: Mines is called Mika and he is so annoying sometimes. He is really agressive too both my legs are completely scratched up thanks to him.

you prolly asked for it. one of my cats, who was a female persian, HATED it when i'd touch her hind paws or her tail. but they were so cute and puffy! so...ya know...poke...poke...next thing i know she has all 4 paws clinging to my arm while trying to bite me lol.

I must say, your request led me to a...disturbing revelation. A very disturbing revelation. "Red fox dietary habits," indeed...

Oh, and a red fox eats about 0.5-1 kg of food per day, so call it 3.5-7 kg per week, probably closer to the median.

ah, i am truly impressed grasshoppa. now, i'm curious about this fox you speak of....how often does a male fox mate yearly and how many offspring on average does a female give birth to. ready set go!

I don't like foxes... personal reasons.

Annual breeding cycle and the fact that only...humans and dolphins, I believe, have sex for pleasure as well as reproduction, make me guess once per year. Litters average 5, but have been known to reach as high as 13.

I haven't even left Wikipedia yet. ;)

Minor glitch: Primarily monogamous partnerships, though polygamy and polygyny are both not unheard of. Another logical step I forgot to actually state.

I prefer rabbits.

rabbits are super cute.

And if they become too fat, I get to whip out a nice "civet" (rabbit stew).;)

Um... no. Well foxes arn't cudly little puppies, they're disease ridden wolfs. They have been known to attack humans.
I hate Foxes because they killed all my chikens, and had my vedgtables for desert. That's when I decided foxy-woxy was going to die.
