I think that time travel might actually be possible, but in a different way than portrayed in SF films. That would require a much greater understanding of space-time and all that, though.

I presented it in the most simple I could.

I was not saying past memories and experience don't affect your thinking, thats another subject, I was saying nothing is certain, You cannot tell for definate what is going to happen tommorow.

One fun thing to do when you time travel is try to kill yourself in the past. It's fun because you'll never succeed. If you did succeed, you would never be able time travel in the first hence you will never succeed at killing yourself. See. Fun.

I'm not going to quote past posts since some are long but...
First of all I meant this more on a philosophical 'non God' type of point of view, not syaing there is no God but that my topic was based on the principles of time, not morals or religion.
Also, Xena, your views are based on your belief in God. I would never say your views are wrong any more than I would like any one saying the same about my views, but many religions wouldn't see things at all in the way you do. (Buddhists would be a perfect example...as well as my own Native American views of God being a spiritual energy, neither good or bad)
I do wish to say that I always love your input and find you to be one of the most thoughtful people on EP, so in no way am I bothered by how you viewed this thread... :)

As far as not being able to time travel, I can prove it is true, we just can't control it is maybe what you mean, but I time travel all the time.
I drop a glass, the glass falls...within a few seconds the glass breaks on the ground. Had I not travelled those few moments in time I would have never been there in the future to see that the glass had broken. True...?

Most people only belive what they can see, they will follow a path that seems right to them, even though it's full of doubt. If we knew everything, would we accept it? I doubt it.

If you knew everything you would know that some religions believe all suicides go directly to Hell and then you wouldn't kill yourself because you would know that...
Almost makes it seem like it's better to kill others since at least with that you could pray for forgiveness but by killing yourself you'd never get the chance... :P
