Not System Shock either... I must be outta the loop, I guess... :(
Anyway, I guess scariest would be, uh... first Resident Evil... Nothing tops the crude graphics that game had, and by "crude" I mean they were so basic, so first-gen, yet somewhat realistic enough to make them feel special. It was cool... :wacko:
I liked Eternal Darkness because it messed with your head.
I think Resident Evil 2 was scary as hell especially when i went back through the hallways of the police station and arms broke through the walls to try to grab you. That made me jump outta my seat
Hehe, I was alone at home one night, playing RE2... I remember when the licker jumped outta the magic glass I stopped playing that day... :P
It's definatly a tie between the first time playing Biohazard (RE) or System Shock 2...although I have to mention both Clock Tower 2 (1 in the States) and Silent Hill, they both scared the living hell outta me.
Another game thats scary.....katamari Damacy, those humans in that game are creepy *shudders*

-Resident Evil 1 (PSX): it was one of the 1st games i played on the PSX back in the day and it totally scared the shizzil outta me when the dogs 1st showed up. that was really the only scare point for me.
-Resident Evil 1 (NGC): this game's graphics blew me away, along with its audio quality and i think this is why i had WAY more moments of fear in this remake over the original. also because the damn zombies would revive. you all have no idea how loud i yelled when i 1st saw a zombie get back up O_O :(
-Silent Hill 1 (PSX): i hate to give this game any props because i truly hated its sluggish controls and fog effect. i still do. but it had its moments which were somewhat different and new compared to RE games. i didn't care much for the storyline though.
-Resident Evil 3 (PSX): the game itself didn't show me anything new or worthwhile to be scared about as far as the story goes or graphically. the one and only thing that did strike me as scary was 1) the introduction of Nemesis and 2) the fact that it mutates over time to become stronger and 3) it can follow you through doors.
-Silent Hill 4 (PC, the door i think?): graphics were incredible and the beginning of the game was strangely creepy to me.
-Dino Crisis 1 (PSX): i've always been a fan of dino movies and RE games so mixing the 2 was icing on the cake for me. difficulty settings, limited ammo. tough dino's...wooh!
-Dino Crisis 2 (PSX): nothing stood out as scary, except watching the new huge dino devour a fully grown trex, knowing i couldn't hurt it, and running away from it was what stood out to me. it was like watching the spinosaur having its way with the trex in jurassic park 3 again lol
i think that covers it for me. i may be missing another game(s) but i doubt it.

The Fatal Frame games never scared me. At all. Though to be fair, very few games do anymore. For some reason, I just can't get scared by a game. Maybe I'm desensitised to this sort of thing.Quote:

The last thing to scare me in a game, was the Licker busting through the window of the interrogation room in RE2. And that was only scary, because you weren't expecting it. It wasn't...creepy scary.
That fog effect was one of the many things made it extremely creepy and mysterious, and different. While in RE games, you only get scared by zombies, Silent Hill games have the pressure on the story. Not paying attention to the great storyline of SH games takes out the best part.Quote:
