i might be wrong but i think it means switching an original sega saturn game with a burned game to trick the laser into thinking the burned cd is the real game so it can play
Yep. Exactly.Quote:

Here is a quick tuto on how to swap, depending on your saturn model.

It seems really complicated to me. All this talk of laser and disk speeds and whatnot. I don't eeally understand,. The disk never seems to spin faster when I look at it. And if I listen to the buzz noise of a disk loading, it all sounds the same. It never "speeds up" or "slows down"
The Saturn is super-easy. After you tape the switch, you load a real game, listen to the lazer buzz (moving)...when it stops, switch for a burned game.Quote:

Well, I'll give it a try, if this iso download ever decides to finish. At this rate, it won't be until tomorrow, though. I hope it works.. There are so many games I've always wanted to play
Next, you'll be claiming you got it on the first try, right? :PQuote:

EDIT... again: Now I really DO have it down pat. The timing is very easy once you know what sounds to listen to.
OK, so I got this trick to play backups of US Saturn games, but I'd like to play backups of JP Saturn games on my US Saturn. I hear all that's needed to play imports is a certain type of Pro Action Replay. I'm thinkin' all I'll need is that in addition to the swap trick... maybe?
Anybody willing to run down the available methods to play JP backups on a US system?
I believe you can convert the region of a lot of the saturn games, although it doesnt work all the time. Zorlon should know about that more then I do though
