laptop to tv is very simple, just close your laptop, hook up the S-Video cable, open laptop, log in to windows, and make sure your tv is on the right channel.

S-video is lame. I am going through the vga output. I just can't get it set to the correct resolution. When I bump it up it just turns black and I get no signal. It doesn't make sense.

Could it be you're outputting in 1080 and the TV is set to 720? You know, something silly like that.

Then again, that would only make it look blurry a bit.

No I set it to 720p, and I have tried lower than that. I can't display anything above other than 800x600 or 1024x768.

But asides that you're probably right, it sounds like he's outside the scan range. Also he isn't using proper HD connections so yeah :wacko: Unless it's a CRT or standard LCD. For the record standard CRTs run at 320x240@30Hz :wacko:
