Thinking a good quality 26-27", rather than getting the cheapest 32" I can find. I'm sure an 800:1 contrast ratio is going to make my anus bleed, followed by my eyes.

Good idea. Better to have some more quality over a few inches of screen that won't make a big difference.
It's actually a complete pain to find good quality in a rather small tv. I guess companies assume that if you are going the 22-24'' route that you just want to be as cheap as possible, but with the current set-up in my bed room that's about all I have the space for. Ended up having to do it online (so many shit tvs at stores here) but this Toshiba is treating me well.
Its a long shot, but Im hoping my brother-in-law buys us that 50" he promised. Unfortunately he was wasted off his ass when he said it....
If he were to do so, I would bring my 32" into my office space and put my 19" and 20" on either side of it vertically.
Im don't feel guilty being this greedy either.:evilgrin::evilgrin:
Humourously enough, the small tv I'm talking about is better than the 60'' one that I picked up a couple months ago lulz.
Could use my 22" monitor for now, but what puts me off is the fact it doesn't have built in speakers. All the hassle of rigging the 360 up to my PC's speakers.

Anyone in the UK wanna buy a like new, 3 month old 160GB PS3 slim? I need a working TV a lot more than a PS3.
Also has 2 games, Resistance 2 and Killzone 2.
