Lmfao. Luckily, I know enough of these languages (with the exception of SQL and Python) that I can pretty much jump right in and stick with it, but I don't want to cram and forget it. Like I said, with OOP, once you know a lot about one of them, you know more than you realize about the rest.
I've spent DAYS (over the course of five years) learning PHP, but I never moved forward with it because I was looking at it wrong. Once I started looking at OOP, it became clear that THIS is what I should have been looking at when PHP5 first came out and I wanted to learn. When RoR came out and popularized the MVC model, I wanted to learn that, but hosting concerns turned me away from it.
I bought some Visibone reference cards for PHP, Javascript, and RegEx, but I didn't think about them as being REFERENCE cards. I thought I could use them to learn. That turned me away from all three. If you go here, you'll see what I mean. That doesn't help anything.
Java is just good to know. I didn't realize HOW good it was to know until I lost my job and wanted to get into programming. Java is STILL the most demanded language. I didn't realize it because I don't use it.
Python is just good to know because it can be useful.
Knowing SQL is useful for those times where you need to be versatile and are working with an OSS database or something like MS SQL.
The Weather Channel has finally posted a Winter Storm Watch for us, stating that 5+ inches of snow are possible from the storm everyone's been watching for ages. I'm so, so disappointed by the lack of snow thus far this season, I'll be absolutely heartbroken if they're wrong. Again.
And if it does snow, all the stupid college students will go running around in it and make it all ugly with their footprints.
Aww. :( Here's hoping! ^^;;; Though considering how much most people seem to hate snow, maybe I shouldn't be~
The university I'm going to in Japan is in a city with an average 248 inches of snowfall per year. ^^;;; Apparently it's one of the snowiest metropolises on the planet~
I can't wait until my nails turn into claws.
Air. AJapanese dating sim. It began as sort of a joke, but then he went and hacked it, and I translated a sizeable chunk of it. ^^;;; I don't even know much about it, but I like the music. And it's good practice. ^_^ Plus the idea of translating something with another EP member is <3.
I'm stupidly happy that it's snowed for two winters running here now. ^_^ We've had nothing but rain for pretty much as long as we've lived here. It's not right. ^^;;;
You should come visit, if you can find the time! It'd be lovely. ^_^ And they even have a famous snow festival in February. ^^;;;
Is it bad that I would both buy and wear this? ^_^
Shush, don't ask why I'm browsing ladies' clothes on ebay. <_<
Ah, I see. I'd be a little hesitant to translate anything Ray was fond of without being terribly familiar with it. :wacko:
I'm sure I could find the time, it's the money required for travel and such that would most likely be difficult.
Snow dinosaurs? So much want. ^^;;;
Hey does ANYONE know how to equip weapons on supporting characters in Seiken Densetsu 3?
I mean I really can't figure it out :c
