I hope I don't get any bad burns, maybe not because I'm using Alcohol 120%/DVD+Rs this time.

My CD-R's burn at a scary-fast speed. I thought someone was fucking up when I saw Nero report the burn at 48x speed. o_o A full CD at 8 minutes.
At least my DVD player is still ultra slow. >_> Full DVD takes about two hours.
I can get 24 on mine I think. I also go 4x.
My drive is around 2 years old now I think.
Emprex DVD+/-RW 16X. Still going strong.
I've got a 5 year old 32X CD-RW drive laying around too, it overburns onto 90 minute discs, so I'm not complaining.
And I have a 16X DVD-RAM drive somewhere, I don't use it.
Plextor for the win :) 4x, of course ;)
Eh, it's somewhere around there. Just for burning at 48x it should take two minutes, but there's other stuff involved besides just writing the data to the disc, so it's probably a few minutes. *Shrug* I'm a patient person, 8 minutes doesn't bother me compared to 4. For the two hours for a DVD, I don't bother waiting around for it, I turn it on then leave it alone and come back some random time later.
I usually get 480kbs

Mine is the same, only the first 3 connections dload, the rest are idle.
Click on the news.verizon.net on the left, you should then be able to grab the listings.
Edit: Also the dload speed can vary from different isp's. I have a friend who can't get more than 50kbs.
