Castlevania been on +9 systems and SOTN intruduced new gameplay. For the series that is. But it was released in 97... :o :P

SOTN was actually my first guess. I thought the pic kinda looked like one of the teleport rooms, perhaps. I didn't think it really introduced 'innovative' new gameplay though, so I didn't post it. I'll be pissed if you're right :)

Other than that I have no ideas.

Well, Konami don't fit in as the answer to the company name clue. So I dunno. :P

The only game Namco has made that appeared on over 9 systems is Pacman. The only one that comes to mind, I mean... :P

That would really piss me off if it would be SOTN since I play this game like every day. But new gameplay? WTF. It's a scrolling 2D game like you can find many. Konami? WTF!

Enter the Ghost is correct. It is Zelda: Orcarina of Time :P The "innovative" gameplay feature was the Z targeting system. The nine systems the series has been on were:

It was originally being developed for the N64DD but then sent to the plain ol' 64. Yep, I'm evil :wacko:
