I find that with the States. Most "necessities" (food and whatnot) are a lot cheaper down there than they are in Canada. Even some other things, like cars and whatnot, are cheaper in the States. Most electronics, however, are the same price.

We get screwed on books and magazines and whatnot, though. We're typically paying $4 for the same thing. And our dollar, now, is par.

If you don't have a years relevant work experience than it can be a lot less than that and was for me, Supervalu are notorious for paying their staff very poorly, my local supervalu does too.

I had to look up the minimum wage for Oz, as it's been years since I had to think about it.

Anyway, the national award wage is $15.51au
But there are some exceptions that are lower than that, like junior employees & trainees (that may not be covered by an award or agreement) and apprentices.

The lowest wage I can see is for junior employees (under 16 years of age) $5.71au :wacko:
