Where would you like to me paste it at?
Sorry to ask again, but I'm now looking for a specific genre now xD
A DS game, Roguelike. Not too hard - I picked up Izuna 2 and that absolutely murdered me, and I've finished both of the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games. Is Izuna 1 a little bit easier than Izuna 2? What murdered me even more was when I got more people and I had to level them up as well, while Izuna herself got all the xp since her partners would die early..
I want a game that has the adrenaline rush of Contra but in a sword fighting fashion. Anyone?
Alright, so I'm somewhat out-of-date with the whole DS scene. Could anyone mention some decent DS games that came out this year, or will be coming out next year? Pretty much the only title I know of at the moment (that interests me) is Devil Survivor 2. Thanks in advance.
Can anyone suggest a JRPG similar to Tales Of Symphonia on either the Wii or the Gamecube? I never got round to playing the sequel as I heard it was mediocre?
similar to tales? maybe skies of arcadia
can anyone tell me if there is a grid based strategy game available for mac? similar to tears to tiara and fire emblem
rise to fantasias voice acting is worse than house of the dead... and house of the dead is INTENTIONALLY bad
He's from China, I doubt it has the absolutely horrible English voices.
Evangelion 3nd Impact-If your a fan of the original series and has seen the newest movies then you'll probably love it, as a rhythm game its okay its not really that difficult even on the hard difficulty but its definitely worth playing.
got any ideas for a good game? it has to be easy to play with a keyboard, as i dont have a usb controller. platformers or rpgs, preferably for psx and ps2

Im looking for a game similar to the Persona series, with school life/relationship/action/anime style to it. I love Persona games, so if there is anything else similar to it that ive yet to try, id love to hear about it xD Also, keep suggestions in the ps2/gamecube region, or pc, otherwise suggestions would be useless if i didnt have the system xD
no one knows of any?
There really isn't jrpg that's similar to Tales on either the GC or the Wii besides the sequel. If you like the hack and slash type gameplay with some RPG elements, I would try Muramasa, but the story's pretty lacking. I think the artwork is gorgeous though.
If he gave us a wider range of consoles to choose from there'd be much more we can do.
There's Tales of Graces on Wii if you know Japanese or don't care about playing in Japanese. A really solid Tales game. One of the best, battle system-wise. It's actually getting localized, but only for PS3.
I believe Batman: Arkham City to be the best game released thus far for this generation's consoles. I'm sure you're all aware of the game and heard the praise. I'm simply reiterating it. Really. It's fantastic.
My brother and I have been really into apple II text adventures like Zork and Lurking Horror, but we need more! We'd love some suggestions, mainly for apple II, but any platform would be great. Thanks!
I've been a PSP gamer since it first launched in Aus in 2005, but I never really managed to find any decent games for it, till I flashed it :P
That being said, I've downloaded a bunch of games for it and beat em all really quickly sadly :L
So I'm looking for suggestions as to what games I should download
My current collection includes:
BlazBlue Continuum Shift 2
Midnight Club L.A. Remix
White Knight Chronicles Origins
Hatsune Miku Project Diva 2nd
Parasite Eve The 3rd Birthday
Dissidia 012
Monster Hunter Freedom Unite
Lord Of Arcana
Armored Core Silent Line Portable
.hack//Link
Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep Final Mix
God Eater Burst
Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity
I don't mind genre or language barriers so long as the game is easy to learn basic controls etc. :)
Ello. I'm in a bit of a predicament. You see, lately, I've been drawn to games that portray amazing, hand-drawn sense of style. Games like Legend of Mana and Odin Sphere come to mind. Does anyone have a good list or suggestions games based on this visual style? Truth be told, I'm looking into these games more for my own personal drawing reference then gameplay. Then again, I have been craving something new to play, lol.
Second, does anyone know of a good online MMO community to join. Sadly, I'm on an Acer Aspire One netbook, so my options are rather limited. Still, if I could find something, anything, I would greatly appreciate it.
I look forward to hearing your guys suggestions. Till then.

Uncharted 3
Uncharted 3.
For both of those, try Rusty Hearts. It's actually a 3d polygon brawler game done in anime style. The characters really look like anime more than a game, but I can't say the backgrounds and world made an impression that I remember. Similar, but 2d and sprite based, is Dungeon Fighter Online. Both of these are free to play pc mmo games.
Other MMOs that would run on a laptop, I am guessing since I don't know your system specs:
Conquer(3/4 overhead based on chinese mythos)
Perfect World (the titular game of the company Perfect World, Int.)
Spiral Knights
Shaiya
Might be worth your time to check out Steam. You can browse their store to find games, and the system requirements are almost always listed on the store page so that you can avoid paying for a game that you can't run. It includes a Free to Play genre that includes several MMOs and also a Massively Multiplayer genre as well, in case you have some money to throw around. :) Also, Earth and Beyond has a pretty mature community, much better than when it was an EA game. The Community owns the game now and they've added an extra class for each race!
This will no doubt be moved, as seems to be the trend with my posts, heh....
I know that there is a 'Recommend a Game' thread, but I'm not asking for a specific GAME, so to speak, but game(s) and TYPES of games.
I really love the games that are set-up like these:
Resident Evil
Dino Crisis
Spyro
Mario 64
Zelda 64
Tomb Raider
God of War (High on action, low on brains, but I still enjoyed them..)
The games dont have to be 'dark', I dont mind cutesy games so long as they stick to this 'third-person/pan the camera around/run, jump, attack, and solve puzzles' - format.
OH, and I have this one for PS2 called 'Dark Alliance' that is just awesome....would love to take something like that to a portable...
Thanks in advance!
If you loved the first Spyro games, you'll love the Ratchet and Clank series; it's also by Insomniac. I'd also recommend the Jak and Daxter series, the Sly Cooper series and Okami.
The Monster Hunter series is also a third-person adventure/rpg game. You run around killing monsters and getting items from them so you can make better gear to kill stronger monsters.
Finally if you liked Resident Evil and Dino Crisis, you can try Onimusha, I never got into it because of the backwards control system but the premise sounds cool.
For specific titles on portables, you can get:
-Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters - PSP
-Secret Agent Clank - PSP
-Daxter - PSP
-Monster Hunter Freedom - PSP
-Monster Hunter Freedom 2 - PSP
-Monster Hunter Portable 3rd - PSP
-Okamiden - NDS
Hope that helps!
It sure did help, thanks! :) I have Okamiden for DS, and for PS2. It's a gorgeous looking game, but a bit w-e-i-r-d...
We have every Ratchet and Clank game for PS2, and the three Sly games, as well. My wife loves these, but I dunno, something about them leaves me flat. The R&C games strike me as best suited for someone that just wants to BLOW stuff UP in a flashy way, and mess with mixing weaponry....heavy on action, and light on thought, like a HollyWood Blockbuster. The Sly games are a cut above, in my opinion, and I did have a decent time sneaking around on telephone wires and flying from rooftops, but ultimately the series left me flat...bit too cartoony and predictable. (I love anthropomorphic characters, as well..)
I have never played a 'Monster Hunter' game.
I wish there was a 'hybrid' of Tomb Raider II and Resident Evil 4....these are pretty much my favorites of the 'CD age' of games, thus far....
Yeah, yeah, ONIMUSHA! LOVE those games, have them all! (Well, that last was was a little jittery...heh...best suited for maybe a 12-year-old player with ADD and a case of Mt. Dew?) Not sure what people mean by 'backwards' controls used in games like this and RE, I was weaned on that control system, have loved it since the first RE!
(You wanna talk BACKward, try certain Atari 2600 and older computer games....ughhhh... ;))
Also, I cannot adjust to the 'newer' control scheme being used for most first person shooters these days, god AWFUL. I had this survival horror game for X-Box, something about some jerkoff waking up in a prison, but you had to maneuver your guy around using BOTH sticks; awful! Have a similar game, 'Band of Blood' or some such nonsense, that plays the same way! You move your guy around with ONE stick, and look AROUND with the other....who came UP with this horrid idea?? ...Its like taking analogue control BACKwards 20 years...ughhh...
Thanks again!
:4x:
It's just with Resident evil and Onimusha, up is always forward, even if the camera was from the back of the room going towards you. It just wasn't intuitive for me, and it's really hard to fight and keep going the wrong direction. That's why I think it's backwards.
Haha, what you described is a pretty much how current games are set up nowadays. I'd take that over the old RE controls though.
Oh, I forgot to suggest the Prince of Persia Sands of Time trilogy and the Devil May Cry series. The Parasite Eve series also comes to mind, but it's an RPG/horror survival hybrid. As for a game that combines Tomb Raider II and RE4, I can't think of any at the moment.
Oh yeah, Devil May Cry...Dante...have all of those, as well! (Pretty HIP for an OLD MAN! LOL!) I like those games, a lot, but again, 'Blockbuster' types. I suppose that if I were a 19-year-old, Mt. Dew and weed-fueled guy again, that I'd like 'em more, but...
Wifey has the Persia games for the PSP. She loves those, along with God of War. I like GOW quite a bit, but I need more puzzles, more feeling of solitude, and deeper levels. It, like so many others, are far too "wham BAM, thank you MAM!" for my tastes....
I became aware that a sequel to Parasite Eve was created, called 'Third Birthday'. Cant wait to try it, but at $20-$30 for the UMD, I'm not willing to bend over for Sony, just yet.....
I'll tell ya, man, I loved the OG Silent Hill on the PSX. When that came out I was in my mid-20s, and we would all get together and play/watch that game in the dorms. I cant tell you the "OHHH SHITTT!!!"s that were screamed out, and my friend Lisa even said "FUCK this, I've had ENOUGH!" and walked out! LOL! The smoke would clog the room, and we had a friggin BALL with it. I like the later PS2 version with the young chick in the mall, and the one in the morbid amusement park, but NOTHING will ever touch the quality or the atmosphere of that first game....what a masterwork!
