He's talking about the RAW. OVA 3 hasn't been subbed by anyone yet

Heh. Wasn't posting here for a while.
What I'm watching now is:
"Legend of Condor Hero" : very good storyline and characters, though a bit sad at the end.
"Nanaka 6/17" : dunno why..I just found a torrent and wanted to waste some bandwidth..maybe it'll be worth. :)
I am watching Eureka Seven.
It's an alright show. It's set up as if it might be a goofy magical girl anime, but it's more about growing up really. If you're okay with that, it's not bad at all.
I'm watching NieA_7. I caught a few episodes of this awhile back and enjoyed it. Now that I've figured out how to convert dual-audio .MKV files to DVD complete with subtitles, I thought I'd download it again and give it another go. :)
I'm currently watching Ikkitousen: Dragon Destiny (yeah, it's a pretty weak show. I'm just a sucker for Three Kingdoms stuff) and Nanoha StrikerS.
Let's see...Maison Ikkoku (td didn't do a great job with their subs, but...), Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS (I was surprised to find they were making a third series - I'm holding out on an opinion until more episodes come out), and I'm debating starting Lucky Star (happy fun commercial and OP) or Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge (bright bishies meet goth girl). And I still need to watch the new Kanon series, especially since I've heard KyoAni's doing Clannad in October.
Magic Knight Rayearth's second season.
OMG YOU WATCH THAT SHOW?! I WATCH THAT SHOW TOO!!! omfg!!!
I finally decided it was time.
That's right.
I'm now watching the Naruto fillers. *shudder*
I'm up to the Curry is Life arc and all I can say is that both the animators and writers must have been high on something when they came up with that crap.
Maybe they ate some of that damn curry.
Or maybe they didn't, in which case they should have.
I am Wathing Seirei no Moribito
It is interesting, has nice art.
I hear it has similar art as Musashi.
Heh you're right. Despite kinda childish setup the actual plot and the growing up aspect
make 'Nanaka 6/17' a really interesting anime. It teach about how we sholdn't take some
words too serious in case we don't want our childhood wasted.
Kinda sentimental stuff. lol
While I'm on it I started watching 'Hayate no Gotoku'.
Funny as hell..of course if you inderstand the meaning of
some of the sentences. ;)
I've started Watching "The Legend of the Mystical Ninja" It's not half bad, for what it is...
and not Anime but Sonic: SATAM
I found a torrent for Sonic SatAM too; just finished d/l it, in fact.
I only got to see the first season because they started showing the news on Saturday mornings here instead of showing the second season.
Also missed the final season of Gargoyles for the same reason, but I heard the last season wasn't all that good anyway.
It wasn't all that bad, but it meandered more than a bit. Plus things got a little weird between Goliath and Elisa towards the end.
Well, now you've got me curious.
/goes off to find a torrent
WPP's stuff: Digimon Adventure, Digimon02, Rockman Axess, and haha not japanese anime, but the american anime Animaniacs :D
It's probably going to be the same case with this one.
It's the story of a kid named Kevin Keene who, along with his dog Duke, gets sucked into the Video World one day while playing Nintendo in order to help save it from evil. There he joins up with a Princess who leads a team of freedom fighters consisting of Megaman, Kid Icarus (so-named, rather than by the name the game gave him, Pitt) and Simon Belmont.
Aside from Kid Icarus, who's only other off-character trait aside from his name is that he adds the suffix "-icus" to pretty much everything he says, the other two characters both look and act almost nothing like you'd expect them to.
Megaman is close, but he's green for some reason, and adds "mega" to all of his sentences, both in front and at the end of them, sometimes both in one sentence. He doesn't ever really shoot his mega-buster, nor do I recall him gaining the powers of defeated enemies.
Simon Belmont is dressed in a blue Bomber's jacket, wears flight goggles and has yellow hair. He's an incredibly vain lantern-jawed buffon, and is always tussling with Kevin for the attention of the Princess, usually screwing up in a colossal way. He still uses his whip, so at least that much is true to character.
The villains fare a bit better when it comes to resembling their videogame counterparts, save for their leader Mother Brain, who is a giant brain in a tank with an odd face on it that looks sort of like what you'd expect a cross-dresser to look like, and she talks like Little Richard. Dr. Wiley, King Hippo and the Eggplant Wizard round out the team of misfit villains, and as stated, do a good job of staying pretty faithful to the source material, at least when compared to nearly everything else in the show.
The story has the characters visiting various game worlds in order to either foil Mother Brain's plans, help a character or characters in need, or search for a way to bring Princess Lana's father to Video Land. That's pretty much the crux of the series, with the only variations being the settings that the characters visit, as well as the characters they meet there. It's pretty standard 80's fare though, so don't expect anything too compelling and you'll be satisfied.
The animation is pretty tight. Nothing amazing, but if you consider that it too is standard 80's animated fare, you might appreciate it a bit more than you otherwise would. However, if you're in it to see some of your favorite videogames faithfully recreated on the small-screen, you're in for some major disappointment.
On top of utilizing videogames that don't really warrant the animated treatment a bit too often, most of the worlds that you would want to see look nothing like you'd expect them to, and feature characters that look and act nothing like their videogame inspirations. The Zelda world for example, while being sorta cool for featuring character designs for Zelda and Link that are pretty close to the Mario Super Show designs, as well as the voice actors from that show, looks alot more...high-tech than you'd expect Hyrule to look.
None of that is overly off-putting, but it would've been nicer for them to have drawn inspiration directly from the games, or in cases in which it was available, the concept or game-manual art. It sorta stinks when you consider all the wonderful artwork in the Zelda manuals that painted a very different picture of Hyrule than that of the show, for example.
It's a decent package, but I think for me the decision to buy it was based more on nostalgia than anything. I think that if the other Nintendo cartoons from around that era put you off, this might not change your mind.
I only caught a bit of this back when it first ran, and can only really remember that it was pretty-much a continuation of the original Super Mario Bros. cartoon, but was way more faithful to the source, and was all around more fun to watch. Not that the original SMB cartoon was terrible mind-you.Quote:
Also what's this Super Mario Bros 3 cartoon? I've not heard of it at all, is it any good?
I'm going to see if I can't chase it down and check it out again.
just watched genshiken and it was awesome altho it felt unfinished and prolly was, here's the description from anidb:
Based on a popular 4-panel comic about the Japanese otaku lifestyle, this manga follows Sasahara Kanji as he dives face first into a world of anime, manga, video games, pornographic doujinshi, and the like. Kio Shimoku pokes fun at every element of the otaku world, so sit back and enjoy the ride. This is an anime for hardcore fans, with very complicated references that will test your knowledge of all things otaku.
It was a good anime and i recommend it.
Next 2 anime i plan to watch is "Kamichu!" and "Yoake Mai Yori Ruru Iro Na"
Kamichu is, in my humble opinion, one of the most brilliant feel-good anime series I've watched in some time. Very much worth a viewing.
Genshiken was def caned before it was completed. The manga keeps going though!
Also the Anime that they watched in Genshiken is actually being made into an Anime now...
Also thanks for the info, I might check that out when I can pick up the box set for cheap on Amazon or something.
Yeah, it's definitely worth checking out if you can get it cheap. It's not terrible, and it is a neat history lesson in its own way.
I've had the misfortune of watching the first episode of Lucky Star. A terrible adaption based on a 4koma manga. Stay away from this, go watch Azumanga Daioh instead.
OMG.
Some of these Naruto fillers are so bad, that they're actually good (like the Cooking contest one)
The rest however are just bad bad.
And I'm only up to episode 168--still got another 50 to go.
I hope they don't get much worse though.
They get much worse, don't they?
Actually, the next arc wasn't so bad (the Anko's past/fish-girl arc)
After I finish watching the Naruto fillers, I'm going to list which ones I think are worth watching and why.
And yes, I'm going to (try my best) to watch them all.
Ahh, i'm still wondering if I should start Naruto again ... I ended after the bug arc....
Well anyway =p I just finished Eureka 7, i'd recommend it to anyone ^_^ so damn cool, a nice feel good anime I think.
And i've just started Hajime no ippo, I had my doubts but so far it's pretty fun ^_^, it's about a kid who wants to become a boxer, I think its a comedy too.
Got two hot series to recommend here -- both are currently airing.
Seto no Hanayome is a totally crazy series with lots of slapstick and otherwise sick humor. The whole thing is about a boy who has to marry a mermaid, but the mermaid's father, who is a mafia/gangster boss doesn't want to let his daughter go. Therefore, he lets his whole mafia crew loose to hunt down the boy. These guys torture the boy in all possible ways, but don't let the mermaid daughter find out. Lots of hyperactive action, in other words. Extremely funny this far.
Claymore is a less humorous series. In fact, it's pretty dark-themed and all. This one is about Claymores, who are half-human and half-yoma (Yomas are some kind of demons with extreme physical power). These claymores live to kill the other yomas, working for a mysterious organization. This series has the whole "badass murder goes soft for a kid" thing going on, but it's great entertainment. Lots of gore, and opening by one of my favorite bands, Nightmare :D
Check 'em out or suffer :P
I'm also re-watching Solty Rei (the DVD releases this time), but everyone has seen that series and knows what it is about so yeah... :)
I saw a anime called Tengen Toppa Gurren Laggan.
Its drawn in that fast action stuff, but I love the anime full of humor and action.
Especially when they wanted to combine their robots, the bigger one just smacked the smaller to the ground.
It's a pretty good song, yeah. When I first heard the Nightmare intro of Death Note, I thought to myself "Yeah, I'm definitely going to watch this". First impressions are important, I guess. I'm at episode 6 in Claymore, still awesome.
Anyway, I'm watching Trinity Blood, which isn't all that bad. Not Hellsing, but it's keeping me occupied for a while. And I also started Sola, a new series. After 2 episodes, this seems pretty interesting.
I started watching Rurouni Kenshin all over again because it's that fucken cool.
I also wondered what their bodies really look like. I mean, is it zombified, or scaly or what? It's got to be something shocking/repulsive, since they're half Yoma and all that. :P Anyway, I'm really liking the way they're showing the past, it's better than just having random flashbacks. I wonder when the series will go back to the main storyline, though.
