Google and Facebook collect a lot of data (together they collect far more than all US agencies combined) and can't be trusted to not share it with government agencies. I'm not being paranoid.
I'm a little surprised the likes of Apple is giving a helping hand though.

Using VPN isn't 100% anonymous anyway, and TOR isn't completely safe either. I never do or say anything worth worrying about so I'm not paranoid enough to try to hide myself.
But that being said, I have never used Facebook or any sort of social site. I use public trackers but I never seed and don't create torrents.

There are a good number of cash by mail VPNs that run on ramdisks the last time I looked. I imagine it would be difficult to track that even if it isn't impossible.

Extratorrent has current ETTV releases, but yeah for old shows you may have to use tpb and some other places.
