Quick question.
If you were watching an LP, would you rather it had terrible quality/low volume sound, or no sound at all?
I, too, would appreciate an HD capture.
But SO EXPENSIVE.
Fortunately I focus primarily on demos and the occasional last-gen game.
And my upcoming concept would be pretty text light and would feature some actual text contrast (orange on red in 8pt font? REALLY BIOWARE? REALLY?).
So people will have to deal with stuff not looking that great.
I'm gonna go play a game.
Just... not sure which game.

Depends. Although if all the audio would fall into the former category, then I'd take that. That's what mute buttons are for.
I try to keep the audio somewhat low on the GBA projects since the framerate runs from 97% to 105%, meaning the audio is off from proper emulation due to the recording setup.
I opt to custom soundtrack the whole thing when I do a pure "gameplay only" video. To what I consider great results.
Ah, right. But even if you use the line in port (or do you not have an adapter for that)? Since it's not technically going through the capture card (if what I read was correct, the audio problems are caused by it overheating... Considering the case, I can kind of see that :P), it shouldn't have an issue.
Would you prefer I be a dick? :P
(:chu:)
Cheapest is what, $50?
The "Piracy is not Stealing" one.
My post on the first page was super serious, because I was sure I could dazzle him with my superior intellect and make him realize the error of his ways.
Then he pretty much ignored that everyone said he was stupid. And bragged about how he only wanted to have a super famous blog. So I'm done.
Also, on the note of capture cards, dad's new pre-built HP has a TV tuner and all that. So it's got RCA A/V and S-Video in. I could totally use it as a half-assed capture card. But don't care enough.
