If you assume one teaspoon is roughly 2 grams for Mellow Monk's cheapest tea it's 80 cents a session. I'm wondering how many more infusions you can get out of the tea this way since it's going to be more powerful since you have a ton of leaves. Still cheaper than soda can if my cost check on that was correct a few months ago(granted it wasn't counting a factor or two).
Apparently this is how they do it in Japan so it's worth a shot. It's going to be an interesting day doing this.

They seem to say 2 grams per teaspoon. I use a measuring teaspoon which works well with Oolongs and greens. The first brew was very strong and enjoyable. It brought out a few subtle flavors I didn't pick up the first time I tried this.
