I like Pheonix Point more than XCOM so far, which says a lot about how good it is.

2 things have always bugged me about FF 2 the 1st is the way xp gets divided it makes level take so much longer than it should and 2nd casting any spell over lvl 1 takes way too long. the game seemingly punishes you for using magic, that point is driven home by the cost of ethers at 10K a piece.
I really do want to finish this game but I'm getting tempted to cheat.
Sounds brutal. I never really got into the very early FF games. I did like Dragon Quest 1 well enough.
3 and on wards had better battle systems mainly due to having the ATB gauge it made it much easier to see who's turn is coming and plan better.Quote:

Its hard for me to get into the early FF games. I do like Dragon Quest games though. Excited for the Dragon Quest 2D-HD Triology remake.
