I couldn't agree more. I'd be suprised if it cost less than $100. Though Nintendo has been one to usually release hardware at the cheapest price than its competitors.

Yeah it's annoying. One of the main issues I had when I sent back the slim ps3 I bought on ebay (months ago now but the rage is fresh from this experience) was that I wasn't sent a dualshock 3 like they listed it as having. Sad that it matters so much but it does. Of course the PS3 also wasn't working properly or I would've just asked for $50 back to get a controller.

I'm aware that the ps3 emulates ps1 games iirc. So I was wondering if a NA slim console could run PAL Ps1 games from the disc(s).

well thanks to a few people here i can now play psp games downloaded now im gonna try to get the ps1 games to work on there if only i can find some in iso format not bin or cue

It can't, I'm afraid. Unfortunately Sony are still petty enough to enforce region encoding on emulation of a fifteen year old console.

What I find annoying is that the PS1 filtering on the PS3 is quite crap. It's just blurry and if there isn't any filtering, it's too blocky. Why didn't they go for an ePSXe-kind of upscaling?
