Ubuntu (Canonical) is like the MS of the Linux world or so I've heard; they want all Linux to follow their lead. Mint is based on it as far as I know. One of the root distributions would probably be best unless you have reasons to favor one of the derivatives. You can try as many versions as you have the patience to download and install on a VM :wacko:.Quote:

did a little looking at some distros currently I'm thinking about debian and Mx linux. I think I might download mx and try the live version of it.
Windows needs to fix everything by not giving default user root and taking off the training wheels with SUDO and command line.
