what the people who get owned call gimmicks at first are really innovations. nintendo goes for innovations. I've got a Wii console, and a Gamecube.
I'm not categorically saying I'll never get a Wii U........I just can't see the point of getting one asap for some games with slightly better gfx, and maybe a couple (to begin with) exclusives.
I haven't played all the Wii games I've pirated yet anyway..........and haven't even got around to getting a PS3 :lol

The original Xbox is a much better console than the PS2, better gfx, easy to mod, run games and emu's from HDD (and you can run quite a decent range of platforms on it), upgrade HDD size, you can run up to 720p with some stuff.
Yeah, the PS2 has a huge range and loads of exclusives.......but the best scenario is to get everything for original Xbox first, then any other stuff for PS2 imho.
PS2 and original Xbox consoles are dirt cheap.......or even free :)
