I think events in the universe are random, I never really read enough on the free will vs determinism argument but I've heard that from a neurological point of view, free will falls apart because there are certain paths that are preordained, but from a cosmic point of view I don't believe things are pre-determined and things are random.
The pursuit of trivial information in my opinion can be sort of useless like useless facts but on the other hand I think wanting to improve ones own knowledge without a particular goal in sight is not a bad goal, it's better than staying ignorant on topics.
Electrons will take every path they can. Most of them take the path of least resistance, and this behavior is part of how computers work. The path of least resistance/most common answer is used as the "correct" answer. I like to think our brains are like that, with many paths being available, but one path of least resistance. This gives us free will, but also makes the most common choice somewhat predetermined. Of course, every brain is different, and people form different connections. Meaning that what is the right path or path of least resistance will be different in the same situation for a different person, with a different brain.
From a cosmic point of view, it's different. It's been said that observing a quantum event changes the outcome. You can know the position of a particle or its velocity, but the more precisely you know one, the less certain the other becomes. But I'm fairly certain everything that exists is ripples from creation, meaning it all happens as it must. Our planet was bound to be here. We were bound to start a space program, accelerating the Earths loss of mass into space. While a butterflys wings flapping in Detroit could lead to a flood in Bangkok, the butterfly flapped its wings because it had, the Universe made it so. The fact that you observed that particle and influenced it's trajectory was pre-determined. I don't think things are random, I think we are not at a point where we can understand the underlying order because we are too trapped in our material world and can't let go of our Classical level order. But a trillions of things had to happen in that particles life time to get it to where you are so that you can influence it by measuring, some of them probably involving things as subtle as an air disturbance caused by your pulse.
From my understanding of it all you're somewhat correct in the brain, not due to electrons but more due to reluctance and behaviour, choices become easier the more you repeat them, memory which is properly known as long term potientiation is the constant excitation of a certain synapse, this is why constant memorisation helps you remember things it allows the particular pathway for that memory to be accessed more easily.
I still woudn't tie the observer effect, to the likelihood of us being placed here on a pre programmed path that is non-random, there are possibly millions if not billions of other planets in which life did not satisfy the right criteria to exist on, we're in my opinion incredibly lucky to have all the physical parameters needed for life, millions of other planets are not, from what I read of the multiverse theory and what Stephen Hawkings has said about the finite nature of the universe, it's possible there are have been multiple iterations of it in order to get this one right.
Crap. Slept in to noon. Woke up at four in the morning puking my guts up for some reason, probably something I ate. Oh well feel perfectly fine now. Must have needed the sleep.
too much potato
the store had my beer in stock today yay!
Don't thinks so. Only had a six last night and was up for a couple hours afterwards and had a fairly clear head when I went to sleep.
The amount of time between dinner and waking up running for the toilet makes me think it was the BK chicken burgers I had. They must not have been cooked properly.
If I put a bag of plain potato chips in a blender and added a micky of vodka in it do you think it would kill me if I drank it????
Are you still alive?
:(
Tatty boobs.
Hi guys. :D
