Solution: find shows from your childhood online. Apparently, the nostalgia trip from Scooby Doo and Johnny Quest is helping my parents stay sane when they have to take care of their grandchild. For me, I only have to watch over her directly when she wants to play either the "puppy game" (Okami) or one of my own children's games. I'm pretty sure most of the affectations are standard for the genre, but I still kinda feel they're a bit more silly than anything. Maybe it's because I'm more typically "bright and happy" bubblegum pop.
I tried that, but either he has no interest in them and just ends up being miserable until I turn it off, or what I remember being a wonderful show when I was a child is ruined forever by how terrible it actually is, and I never want to think about it again. -.-* Although he does enjoy Darkwing Duck, so maybe I'll pop that on after my third viewing of The Tigger Movie today.
