I correct, player skill is required and you actually have to concentrate in the game, unlike in some games nowadays.
More like 90% as you still end up running back uncontrolably after each long range attack by the computer, but there was an item in ToD1 to have 100% control. Also I prefer this type of battle system (I have had Phantasia AND Symphonia to practice it on) so my skill is quite high in this battle system. I found that my inventory was hardly being used at all and I was easily gaining shed loads of money I was never going to run out of even after fully kitting out my entire party with new armour (I don't bother with weapons as the Swordians are essential to be equipped, but ToD2 doesn't have swordians right?) so I never ran out of money and was always using up suplies everytime I came to a chest that contained something I couldn't carry as I already had the max amount.
