In addition to what Ray said, I would highly recommend the game. Given your experience with point-and-click adventures, it might be a little bit lacking in that department, but the story is amazing and they do a really, really good job of making you feel something for the different characters. I liked the ambiguity of the game in terms of the decisions that you make -- there isn't really a right or wrong path, and at least half of the choices I made I really struggled with.

It's also one of the few games where I actively cared about the main characters. It tells its story very well, and while there might be certain parts that frustrate you, the overall game is well worth your time. Even if you don't think it deserves all of the praise that it got, I'll almost guarantee that you'll at least enjoy it. I bought it for the Vita with this last PS+ sale, simply because I plan on buying a Vita soon and I want to play through it again. I'll be buying Season 2 on Day 1, I think.

Take that for what it's worth.
