I made new porn today.
Spoiler warning:
TWD is good.
Also, the praise from it is a bit more general as opposed to Gone Home which was largely specific.
And the overall story winds up being better than I'm a lesbian and your mom is a slut.
Not exactly amazing, but it accomplishes something that no zombie game has actually successfully done.
Placing you firmly in the middle of a zombie apocalypse and forcing you to make tough calls and deal with it when you inevitably get people killed or cause rifts in your group.
I dug it, even if it needed work.
Speaking of, Season 2 will get ALL OF MY MONEY when it comes out. So the fact that I'm willing to buy the game all over again is probably a good sign to its quality.
TL;DR
Gone Home is artsy stuff that gets praise because it's "different".
TWD gets praise because it's a well realized point and click-ish throwback that manages to do what a lot of these things do, but generally better.
And by "it needs work", I largely mean "WHY THE FUCK CAN I NOT STRAIGHT UP MURDER THIS WALKING LIABILITY?"
My sister used to bug me a lot aswell, man.
I'd now go off on a rant about how games are becoming infested with "oscar bait" tier games and how that's a sign that people are trying too hard to appease their beliefs in the "games are art" mindset and how that shouldn't immediately make every game that garners some points with everyone is instantly terrible. For instance, among 18th century american fiction nominees, Django Unchained was a better and more entertaining "movie" than Lincoln. Which won more awards?
But no one wants that.
Someone.
Anyone.
Just kill me, my legs are frickin' sore to hell. I can hear every joint crack in agony.
I wish I didn't run the half marathon today. :disgust:
