4 however, while I like it too, may not that what you're looking for. It's linear, and short (20-25 hours average without doing any of the sub-quests).
4 doesn't even have so much of s world map as much as it is a long path with interconnected points where you need to stop. It is easier to go back and do the extras in 4 though. (You can go back right from the final boss instead of playing the game over.)

4 was awesome. One of the things that I think I liked about it was that it wasn't long.
I honestly don't have the time I used to to play long games anymore. and it forgoes alot of exposition, IMO.
5 is awesome-er. It does have alot of exposition though.

I am getting 4 again, along with WA:ACF. Hopefully its a good copy.

You can't even go back to towns you previously went to until the end.

I mean, it's not a path at all, it's you go to the world map, then you choose your next location.
Almost no exploration till near the end.
