Which next-gen console are you looking foward to next?

most definite that sony will come out to be on top because kids are such brats that the parents will buy anything for their kids to shut them up.

most people will not buy ps3 quickly because of the high price. some people ask me sometimes what is the difference between the ps2 and the ps3, i tell them that it will be more powerful (graphics, and features this and that). i also mention that there is a possiblity that it might be around $400-$500 for it. then they give me a look that expresses, "what the fuck, are you crazy. that's too high."

it maybe that nintendo will have better sells because it's cheaper and will support multimedia features(playing movies, music, etc).

I hate to break it... but 3 or 4 polls by major news groups and magazines have shown that the Nintendo Revolution is the most wanted Next Gen system...

Not all of the Polls mind you... but still it looks like it's getting some hype...

i wonder why that is? would sony have been better off dubbing the ps3 as the playstation revolution? thats the only reason i can think of because nintendo has a rep as a kiddy system...unless its mostly kids that have taken the poll.

It could be that RE4 broke the Kiddy repuation for Nintendo... :) What it sold 500,000 copys in the US just the other day.

....i have nothing further to say. you just shut me up with the RE4 comment lol since i love that game and hold it to my heart so dearly lol :)

Edit: wait a sec, the ps1 FF games sold more individually, but RE4 only sold 500, 000? wow. i thought they would have sold more >:

It's still being sold... It's got some life left.

i'd think so i mean, the RE series is a long and good one. i guess it really can't compare, historically to the FF series but its still up there. i'm disappointed it didn't sell as much as i'd hoped it

You have also got to take in to account that this is only the US sales... Im sure the Japanese sales have been as good if not better.. And Im sure it will sell in Europe as well.

I think we really need to get back on topic though.

could it be that nintendo might just change the gaming world. look at the ds and psp, who would have expected a touch screen on a handheld game system. sony and microsoft are keeping it old school while nintendo is trying something different. since nintendo doesn't mention specifically what that "different" is, it makes us want more from the company.

well u can't exactly expect sony to NOT keep it old school i mean, its their 1st attempt at a gaming handheld. besides, the psp can do more than an average handheld so i wouldn't exactly call it staying old school.

the psp is old school with new added features. you can watch movies and listen to music on a gameboy advance. originally the gameboy color had infrared so you can connect with other gameboy colors (it failed because infrared sucks that's why you don't see it in a gba). gba is also a photoviewer.

off course someone here is going to say, "you must be crazy to watch a movie on a gba. you can't see shit." well dahh. it wasn't equipped with a high definition screen and the gba isn't meant for that kind of stuff. gba is a simple super nintendo handheld device.

oh yes, i remember downloading something i thought was a dragonball gt game for gba from sprung long ago and it turned out to be an episode of gt, with horrible, HORRIBLE resolution and pixle problems.

Back on this off topic. I've heard the RE4 had dismal sales in Japan :\ The Japanese just weren't that interested for some odd reason... Might be why they released it here first.

I think RE4 sold reasonably well here, though it was only in the charts for two weeks. They underestimated how many would be required (as it was on shitty old Gamecube) so it was hard to pick one up for a couple of weeks.

XBOX 360. For one, XBOX completely revolutionized console gaming. Live, HDD, and LAN games. I want to see that continue. Two, I really don't like the PS3 controller.

Also, as far as the NR, the specs and pictures for XB360 and PS3 are all out, but NR is still hidden. It makes it hard for gamers to consider it. Also, it will only be 2-3 times more powerful than the GC, compared to PS3 30 times more than the PS2, or XB360 10 times more powerful than the XB. The GC is already the least powerful current-gen console on the market, which means it will sink lower, if it doesnt get that huge power increase.

Lastly, the GC had one HUGE gap. Online gaming. While the NR is going to have online (finally), people (including myself) will prefer to stick to already established online systems, like LIVE and PlayStationONLINE.
