Edit:// I also recall him dying in a car accident and not from cancer. I followed the Beastie Boys as a fan and it's a distinct recollection that contradicts my memory. MCA was diagnosed with cancer in 2009 supposedly, a year after I remember him dying. It coincided with me resigning from a job in 2008 and hearing about in on the radio driving home on my last day there. I generally have a photographic memory, especially about information. If there was a nuclear war we'd all be dead in a flash and not notice it continuing to exist in a parallel universe that was slightly different and it didn't happen, would explain Mandela effect.
