you know what's messed up, ps3. it has all that power and backward compatability with the ps1 and ps2 that they don't intend to improve the graphics of the ps1 games. like the dreamcast which had a ps1 emulator called bleemcast which improved visual quality of ps1 games on a dreamcast. why can't sony do that from a system that is 15times more powerful then the dreamcast.

Also updating the grapics could cause problems with some games.
I think ps1 game on the ps3 will look like ps1 games looked on the ps2 and besides there is only so much you can do to improve the way a game looks. Remember ps1 games were made with old technology and just because you put an old game in a newer system doesnt mean the graphics are gonna be breath taking they will just look a little smoother :DQuote:

that's what i'm trying to say, make the visuals of the old games(ps1) more smoother, less pixelated. compare mgs1 dreamcast with the ps1, it looks better for the dreamcast rather then the ps1. you have to admit that the dc version is better if you have ever compared it.
It's Bleem you have to thank for that. They released DC packs that allowed for better texture smoothing and whatnot on the...what, three games they supported? PSX emulation on the DC was tricky, which is why they never released a disk that had support for all the games, and instead, released packs for three specific games.
As for the PS3, if you look at the PS2's support for PSOne games, it's likely not going to get much better then that on the PS3, regardless of how powerful the system is. It's just not something Sony is interested in doing. I'm sure they could if they wanted to, but hey, they don't. So you may as well deal with it.
It's not as if the PSOne compatability is going to be the deal-maker when consumers go out to buy the system anyway. Hell, I'm sure gamers will be pleased that they can play their old PSOne games at all on the system, and won't worry about wether or not they're displayed in high-res.
Unfortunately, this is the kind of hype trash companies such as SONY and MICROSOFT shove down your throat when comparing system specs... "OMG! Our system has an 8GHz processor, therefore, it HAS to be twice as powerful as the other guy's 4GHz POS!!"... Er... No...Quote:

Yes the PS3 will destroy Microsoft and Nintendo ^__^
I mean if the games will look like this:

There is no competition :D
Haven't we all fallen for that ploy before? I mean look at the back cover of 90% of the PS1 games...they have screenshots that look almost that good...Quote:

I dont go by pictures like that. I cant judge a games graphics until i actually see them in motion, like a video or summpin
that's why i said "If" :P
Still, PS3 will most likely be the biggest seller out of all 3 next-gen consoles no matter what the price
