LOOK AT HIM LYING.

SSS is technically SAC :P I first watched the original movie in a cinema, along with Akira and some other stuff.
It was a specialty cinema down in Melbourne that did cult runs of flicks that ordinarily didn't go to other places (or older stuff out of circulation).
That was a very long time ago
I'm not sure if it was the year it came out or the next year tbh. Akira was definitely old at that stage though.
That isn't the point I tried to make. When I said "at the age I whatched" I meant that I did not have the attention span or intellectual hunger to grasp a dialog-heavy show. In retrospect it is a work of art. If you don't like the movie though, then you won't like the other stuff. The consperiesies and action less cyber terrorism become more pronounced as the series goes on. In fact, there is no less than two episodes I can recall consisting of nothing more than half hour of dialog at a digital table.
Its nothing more than an animated detective/mystery novel.
In fact, I own the novel series which I really ought to read soon.
They are of course unique stories apart from the animation.
My brother and I discussed retrospectives at great length today. A lot of media that was bland, generic or just too far out there was brought up as excellent creations in hind sight. I of course suggested secret of evermore as a prime example, seeing as hardcore fans of the mana series hate it. It was my first RPG and favorite game of all time but looking back, it only gains further respect.
Compared to SoM, it has a better party system, better AI, better battle system and a deeper darker story. Fantasy drives me crazy because I am a SciFi guy. I need tangible evidence and extensive reasoning to appreciate fiction. Saying something is legit because of magic doesn't get me off.
Yeah I'm mad about sci-fi. Fantasy is ok but I've had enough of Japanese style fantasy.
Even if the reasoning I mentioned i s slightly farfetched, at least make a damn attempt to make the subject believe able.
