Oh don't get me wrong, I wouldn't bother having any either if it was easier to get away with.

You aren't required to have insurance here.
There is compulsory insurance as part of registration fees for vehicles........to cover injury to persons.
But besides that........if you want to insure your vehicle against damage, or damage to other property it's up to you.
The thing is........
If you live here, get a licence then drive a car (that hasn't got insurance that will cover you as a driver) then you'll have to pay if you're involved in an accident.
Unless you're unemployed........then worse case is the other party will take you through the courts to get cash........and the court will order you to pay a small amount per month (it's pretty small payments afaik, my bro in law is a cop).
The insurance over here is a joke, it's like £2000 a year on a 1.2 car for just third party. So you're not even covered if you crash the car, only if you hit someone else's car. :fist:
Also, we have "hoon" laws here now.
Cars are impounded for hoonish behaviour........do it enough times and your car goes to the crusher :lol
Get caught with no insurance and your car gets towed away and you get 3 points on your license.
You have to pay rental on the impound place for every day they have your car and then you have to pay a stupid amount to get your car back.
Spoiler warning:
I don't think the car looks too bad actually when it's like this:

I think anyone with the balls to drive one of these should get insurance and tax for free.
I'm off.
