gotcha, I thought you were modding a desktop, but since it's a laptop, that makes more sense. HP hasn't impressed me with my last couple laptops. The last one won't even turn on anymore because the components probably got fried due to inefficient heating, and my current one, even with external fans get super hot.

I'm staying away from HP when I upgrade, that's for sure.

I have legitimate keys for XP and Vista. I had two keys for XP but I lost one.

I Got this one here for £30 / $46 from a friend with only 1 easy to sort fault, it needed a new fan :) so im not complaining its decent enough for most things, gaming is weak but laptops aint normally made for that... that been said it can handle some Fallout 3 and Left 4 Dead and such so its not all bad :)

Think I should worry about HP laptops with integrated Intel cards? I was going to grab a Toshiba laptop on sale but, issues with Paypal made me miss it.

Unless you pay through the nose for a 'gaming laptop', you aren't going to be playing really intensive stuff on one. You're better off spending half the money on a more powerful desktop :P.

Na they should be alright by now and its only an intel the models of HP I was meaning have nvidia 8200 and 8400's in em, but to be safe you could always google the model and see whats what.

Ah, good. It's a shame I couldn't get the Tecra M10, had 2.53 dual core and it was on sale for $220 shipped, :\.

reminds me of when a triple core phenom (2.3ghz I think) laptop with an ati was on sale for $300 with free shipping I had to wait to use a credit card and missed it I was kinda pissed.

I know I would have been upset. As long as I can get myself a 2ghz+ dual core and a hard drive over 100GB, I'm good.

the one I did buy isn't all that bad just wish I would have gotten the model with intel HD instead of gma but for $300 I can't really complain it does everything I need it too.
