I think the best score I've ever gotten from one word was just over 100... something like 106. I can't remember exactly what word it was, but it had a Q and a Z in it.

Technically, I'm playing WordsWithFriends, which has a slightly different board layout, letter selection, point values, and is an iPhone game, but yeah. I've gotten a few 100+ words, most of them hitting a triple word score and using all 7 letters. I didn't do so well when I played actual Scrabble with a group of people in the SU, as I was actively trying to make use of the full board rather than playing to win.

That's all they do. Except it becomes hilarious when everyone begins to hate the shit out of each other when words some come out.

Most of my really high scoring words were built of pre-existing words, using all 7 of my letters (or damn close to) and landing on a triple word score, and usually at least one other letter multiplier.

She played "joy" so I made "ajar" to make the far right row difficult to use for the triple word scores. Then she played "ripe", so I played "be" just to block her from using the triple word underneath the U of "beau." She played "bat" off the b, so I played "beau" to get the triple word. etc. etc., things happen, I play "figs" alongside "ripe" for something like 53 points. Then "DEWANS" for a triple letter on the D and double word on the N, because what the fuck, dewans?

Also, "whirled" was my first turn, for 56 points. Her first was "colon" for 20.
