Can one of you strapping young men help me lift a desk? Its too heavy for me. :(
Someone tossed out a perfectly good desk and I could certainly use a second one for soldering. My computer desk is much too crowded.
Why don't you download shows?
START HIKIN' BRO! :D
My computer desk is becoming burned and scarred from many years of soldering on it. Plus, I don't want to risk damaging one of my three computer screens or anything else that I have resting on it. Since I have myself settled in the corner of our office, this second desk could wrap around the other wall and I could just spin 90 degrees when I needed to solder.
It is fuck-heavy though....
OK, I'll be there in about a month.
The desk you have your eye on must be pretty big, or made of hardwood... mine is a smallish writing/desk that I can just grab in the middle and carry, albeit awkwardly. It's solid wood, but I think it's pine or poplar.
No idea what its made of, but it is definitely NOT a crappy do-it-yourselfer from Target. 6 drawers and a 7th in the center for a keyboard maybe. I would probably modify it for more leg room since I have a shelf.
Might have to wait for my GF to get home and lift it with me. :lol
I finally got my soldering iron from my father in law, but I have nothing to solder. I also have no solder. I think the solder that I did buy (back when I modded my xbox controller) was resin core, though.
