Hi I am Old Frog and you can call me Bill. I came here to collect roms and play but decided to join here.
I remember long ago I tried emulations but back then our PCs weren't fast enough to make it worthwhile. There was a lot of lags then. I had Atari 2600, Commodore 64, NES and Genesis consoles and I missed them. I loved video gaming and still do.
I'm playing with the NES and Genesis games like the old days. I also got some Atari 2600 roms too for old times sake. PC gaming is fun but nothing like the old consoles. I'm in my 60s and still have a heart of a kid.
I was an auto mechanic and retired because of disabilities, too much heavy lifting in lifetime of work. I also played guitar but hung that up too for same reason.

I was up half the night playing nes Zelda. What a game. Yep, I'm doing what I did as a kid. :lol
It's ok, I'm retired so I don't have to go anywhere except tomorrow I go to my pain clinic doc for a med check. -_-
Hi everyone! I just joined so I thought I'd go ahead and post an intro. I'm currently a college student with not as much time to game as I used to have. There are many amazing games today, but a lot of them take forever to progress through because you have to put a lot of time into them. I love being able to just go back to the games I played as a kid, and even discover some new ones I missed out on! As a fan of JRPGs, many of my favorite games are from the NES/SNES days, so that's another reason I find myself coming back over and over.
Anyways, glad I found this site and get to be part of the community! Happy retro gaming everyone!

Hey guys, new user and old school gamer here. :)
Just discovered the world of abandonware. My first computer was an Apple II and some of my favorite games on that was obscure titles like Bolo, Rescue Raiders. I grew up where there was an arcade on nearly every second city block. You couldn't walk home from school without passing an arcade. I played them all! Like many of you, I've been too busy with work, life and family to do this now I'm playing head to head Tetris with my daughter and Mortal Kombat with my son!
So far running MAME 0.197. I also have RetroPie on my Raspberry Pi3 running though only maybe 25% of the MAME roms run on it not sure why. I have Dolphin, Higan, PXSX2, PPSSPP and Retroarch installed but have not had time to figure them out yet.

I'm here mainly to write about situation of retro gaming and emulation in my homeland.Mostly,we've had similar start of video gaming as russians and other eastern europeans after breakup of USSR but then some interesting things happened here and so that has make gaming completely unique here.Hope i'll have some free time to explain it all here.
Am also eager to meet and befriend new people here!

My gaming experience started long ago. My first console was Sega mega drive... though the relations between us wasn't serious, I simply mashed the buttons :D (although I had Light crusader and tried to play it in JAPANESE) :D I grew up in a gamer family. My both parents were gamers so I were always surrounded by consoles... the first I remember was a Panasonic thing.
My true love for gaming began with PS1 and jRPG genre. Although English language were moon runes to me at the time. So equiped with a paper englis-russian/ russia-english dictionary (don't ask... my mother tongue isn't Russian) I began my journey to where I am now. :) Would call my self a decent jRpg gamer with wide variety of hobbies like cinema, music, board games and anime. Throughout these years I seen many games, invested many hours, lived hundreds of lives of my chracters :)
